In late 2014 Bulwark was deployed for the COUGAR 14 Response Force Task Group annual exercise and the International Mine Counter Measures Exercise (IMCMEX). Bulwark was closely featured in Episode 2 of the 2017 sequence of Warship on Channel 4, which though based mostly in HMS Ocean, adopted the whole Joint Expeditionary Force (Maritime) sixteen deployment. Bulwark then headed for the northern Persian Gulf to become the flagship of Task Force 158, providing safety for Iraqi oil platforms. In early May 2011, she took part in a mine-clearing operation to safe the waters of Misrata Port, Libya, after mines were dropped by Muammar Gaddafi's forces to prevent aid from being delivered to the besieged city.
