In some cases, account would not be able to provide a refund due to a case is open but warrants a refund to the customer. This article is provides steps on how to refund customer using eBay case, when the PayPal is unable to do so because of an eBay case is open and proceed to refund customer to avoid the delay caused of asking customer to close the case and process the refund.

eBay Case


For orders that needs to be fully refunded with open cases(eBay case), accounting department will not be able to process the refund. In this case, you will need to process the refund directly via eBay. Instructions below.

NOTE: Not applicable for partial refunds.




1. Open the Ticket "see request details" and "click"

   eBay Case

2. It will open ebay page:

   eBay Message

3. "Scroll down" to see options to "refund customer":

   Refund Options

4. Refund the buyer:

   Confirmation Screen

5. You will see the "refund now process" and "Transaction ID" is available to check:

   Transaction ID

6. Proceed to backend to "process" the refund. See link below for details on how to process a refund:
